New York (AFP) – The Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins will meet in the 2026 Field of Dreams game as Major League Baseball returns to the Iowa cornfield for the first time since 2022. MLB announced on Wednesday that the first game in four years at the refurbished film site of the baseball movie “Field of Dreams” near Dyersville, Iowa, will be played on August 13, 2026.
“Major League Baseball is excited to return to Iowa in 2026 and to deliver a unique experience to the Twins, the Phillies, their players, and fans across the game,” MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement. The contest will be a Twins home game, the opener of a three-game series that will continue after an off day at Target Field in Minneapolis.

“The Minnesota Twins are thrilled to be playing in the return of MLB at Field of Dreams,” Twins executive chair Joe Pohlad said. “Taking the field in Dyersville, where so much of baseball’s magic comes alive, is special for our club and for our fans in Iowa.”
The first Field of Dreams game was in 2021 between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox, with the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs playing there in 2022.
“It’s an honor to have been selected for the return of the prestigious MLB at Field of Dreams game,” Phillies managing partner John Middleton said. “For our players, this will be an experience they never forget as they step onto the set of one of the most iconic baseball movies ever made.”
The iconic 1989 baseball fantasy film starred Kevin Costner, Amy Madigan, James Earl Jones, Ray Liotta, and Burt Lancaster.
