Novak Djokovic

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic (ATP: 2) advanced to the quarterfinals of Wimbledon after easily defeating Dane Holger Rune 3-0 (6-3, 6-4, 6-2) in sets.

Djokovic opened the match strongly, taking a 3-0 lead in games in the first set, and managed to maintain his break advantage with good serves to secure the lead.

In the second set, Djokovic broke his opponent’s serve in the seventh game, and then, at 5-4, missed six set points on Rune’s serve.

The Dane had a chance to immediately punish Djokovic but failed to capitalize on a break point to level at 5-5. Djokovic then took the set 6-4, gaining a significant 2-0 lead.
