Washington (United States) (AFP) – Reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has sustained an abdominal strain and will miss the NBA All-Star Game before being re-evaluated following the All-Star break, the Oklahoma City Thunder said Wednesday.

The 27-year-old Canadian guard will not play for the World team in next week’s All-Star tournament. Gilgeous-Alexander will miss five games for the reigning champion Thunder before a return is possible.
