Dressel wins 100m free at US championships, Moesch sets record

Los Angeles (United States) (AFP) – Nine-time Olympic champion Caeleb Dressel won the 100m men’s freestyle and Anna Moesch broke her own women’s 100m freestyle American record on Tuesday’s opening night of the US National Championships.

Dressel won the 100m final in 47.70 sec, his fastest time since the 2024 US Olympic trials, touching 0.11 ahead of Brooks Curry. The 29-year-old Floridian won the 100m freestyle at the Tokyo Olympics and is a two-time world champion in the event.

Moesch won in 51.88 sec to lower the national mark of 51.94 she set on May 25 in London. Junior world champion Rylee Erisman was second in 52.92 with Liberty Clark third in 52.97.
