European Championship

The Spanish national football team has become the European champion for the fourth time, after a well-deserved 2:1 victory over England in the grand final of the Euros!

Spain almost paid for their missed opportunities when leading 1:0, as England managed to get back into the game. However, Mikel Oyarzabal emerged as the hero for Spain, scoring the title-winning goal in the 87th minute!

The opening minutes of the match were calm, but then Spain began to dominate. Their first threat came in the 12th minute through Nico Williams, but his shot was blocked at the last moment.

After that, Spain completely controlled the game, while England waited for chances from counter-attacks. This tactical setup resulted in few opportunities on the field.

Excitement returned at the end of the first half. First, Kane’s shot from 16 meters was blocked, and then Foden’s free-kick was saved by the well-positioned Simon.

During the halftime break, Spain received terrible news as key midfielder Rodri had to remain in the locker room due to injury. However, this setback was quickly forgotten.

In the 47th minute, Spain took the lead after Yamal assisted Williams, who scored from an angle on the left side to make it 1:0!

Following that, we saw an incredible miss by Olmo, who failed to convert a clear chance into a goal for 2:0. Morata and Williams also missed similar opportunities later.

In the 66th minute, Spain had another chance, but Yamal’s shot was brilliantly saved by Pickford. Spain was punished for their missed chances in the 73rd minute.

Bellingham sent the ball back from the left side to substitute Palmer, whose shot deflected off Zubimendi, deceiving Simon and making it 1:1!

Spain pressed again after that and finally scored the title-winning goal in the 87th minute through substitute Oyarzabal, who netted from Cucurella’s cross from the left side, securing a 2:1 victory and the European championship title.
